Abstract
X-Ray crystallographic analysis of a 1:1 adduct of C-60 and 4,5-dimeth oxybenzyne exhibited a benzocyclobutene structure given by [2+2] cyclo addition reaction at a 6,6-ring junction. A fullerene C(sp(3))-C(sp(3) ) bond length is 1.645(8) Angstrom. Relatively shore intermolecular C. ..C, C...O, and C...S distances were found, where sulfur atoms belong to CS2 molecules enclosed.
