Abstract
Methyltrioxorhenium catalyzes the oxidation of C-60 by hydrogen peroxi de to give C60O. The reaction continues to produce C60O2 and higher ox ides. The yield of C60O represents a modest improvement over that give n by other methods. The reaction conditions can be manipulated to give high conversions of the C-60.
