Abstract
The T-4(1) --> (6)A emission band of Mn2+ in Zn2SiO4:Mn shows a red sh ift and an increase of the oscillator strength as a function of the Mn 2+ concentration. In this paper it is shown that these phenomena are d ue to exchange interactions between Mn2+ ions.
