Abstract
A possibility of determining various types of amines by their inhibiti ng or promoting effects on the copper(ll)-catalyzed oxidation of hydro quinone with hydrogen peroxide is discussed. A procedure for determini ng imidazole by its inhibiting effect in the hydroquinone-Cu(II)H2O2 r eaction is developed. The detection limit for imidazole is found to be 5.6 ng/mL.
