We cloned four kinds of goat insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) cDNA
s. Each of them encodes the same mature IGF-T and different signal pep
tides. In this study, we analyzed expression of the four kinds of mRNA
s in tissues in various developmental stages by a reverse transcriptas
e-polymerase chain reaction assay. The results suggest that their expr
ession may be controlled by different promoters, the activities of whi
ch are tissue- and development-specific.
