K. Bourantas et al., PYODERMA-GANGRENOSUM IN 2 PATIENTS WITH MALIGNANT BLOOD-DISEASE, Journal of experimental & clinical cancer research, 14(1), 1995, pp. 79-84
Pyoderma gangrenosum (PC) associated with malignant hematological dise
ases in two patients is here described. One patient had acute myelomon
ocytic leukemia (AMML) and the PG was limited after chemotherapy for t
he leukemia. The second patient had primary thrombocytosis (PT) treate
d with hydroxyurea. In this woman PG did not improve after discontinua
tion of hydroxyurea. Systemic corticosteroids and azathioprine were gi
ven but without response. Finally, both patients died and possibly PG
in such patients can be considered as a bad prognostic factor.
