Abstract
Regarding the actual discussion on strangeness reactions, we present r esults obtained by interviews with consulting professionals for their attitudes towards immigrants from Turkey. All individuals questioned s tated that the situation of mental health care for foreign clients and the practice of consulting was unsatisfactory. - Possible ways for in stitutional change and for improvement of professional competency in t he sense of a multicultural perspective are discussed.
