Abstract
Three factors of a body-esteem scale, Appearance, Weight, and Attribut ion, were inversely related to relative weight in youngsters between 8 and 16 years old (243 girls and 168 boys). Global self-esteem, howeve r, was generally not related to relative weight. Nonetheless, self-est eem covaried with Appearance and Attribution.
