Abstract
The synthesis of 17-azacholesterol from the N-(3-hydroxy-1-methylpropy l)-17-aza lactam is described. The starting alcohol was oxidized to al dehyde which was treated with isobutylmagnesium bromide. The secondary alcohol obtained was oxidized to ketone. Both ketone and lactam carbo nyl groups were consecutively reduced to CH2.
