Abstract
Whilst low concentrations of a relatively inert compound octamethyltet rasiloxane increase the antioxidant effect of phenyl-beta-naphthylamin e in low-density polyethylene melt, the effect disappears at greater c oncentrations of this additive because the latter changes the polymer structure. The solubility and volatility of phenyl-beta-naphthylamine correlate with its antioxidant effectiveness.
