Abstract
The structure determination of a new yellow pigment obtained from weak ly virulent isolates of Phoma lingam, the blackleg fungus, is describe d. Investigations of the secondary metabolite profile and the molecula r genetic characteristics of weakly virulent isolates of P. lingam ind icate it is closely related to P. wasabiae.
