Abstract
Zinc-cobalt alloys were electrodeposited from an ammonia-free, mildly acidic electrolyte based on potassium chloride, Passivation of Zn-Co a lloy was also investigated, The cobalt content of the bath, the temper ature, current density and pH all affect the cobalt content of the all oy deposit, Control of cobalt concentration and temperature (or curren t density) of the bath was best for regulating the alloy composition, The properties of a Zn-Co coating were found to be superior to those o f zinc alone. The corrosion resistance of Zn-Co alloy showed high valu es.
