Abstract
Pulmonary air leaks are one of the most common problems in patients wi th the adult respiratory distress syndrome, ARDS. We report what we be lieve to be the first case in which unilateral high-frequency ventilat ion combined with contralateral conventional positive pressure ventila tion has been used successfully to manage severe air leak in an infant with ARDS.
