We have obtained Rh-103 MMR spectra of approximately 3 nm diameter rho
dium particles, supported on titania, or protected by a polymer film.
The NMR lines are considerably broadened and slightly shifted with res
pect to those of the bulk metal. The broadening and shift are size dep
endent, but temperature independent in the 20-80 K range. We give a qu
alitative interpretation in terms of site dependence of both the elect
ron-orbital (or chemical) and the electron-spin (or Knight) shifts.
