Abstract
Multiatomic adsorbates may adsorb to produce LEED patterns which are d ifficult to interpret if different adsorbate species lie on surface ne ts of different symmetries. This paper discusses a semi-graphical meth od for analyzing such patterns in the kinematic approximation, and ill ustrates it with the example of an SnO2 layer on the Au(111) surface.
