Abstract
The population asymmetry of the left-right helixes in the strain-free holmium is shown by polarised neutrons to be less than 6 x 10(-5). The interaction between the spin chirality and the elastic torsion is dem onstrated, which provides a possibility to control the chirality sense . A phenomenological form of this interaction is proposed and some con sequences are discussed.
