T. Hayaishi et al., DECAY CHANNELS FOLLOWING 1S PHOTOEXCITATION OF NEON, Journal of physics. B, Atomic molecular and optical physics, 28(8), 1995, pp. 1411-1420
The decay channels after 1s --> 3p and 1s --> 4p excitation of Ne were
studied by combining two experiments using (i) time-of-Right mass spe
ctrometry and (ii) threshold electron-ion coincidence measurements. Fr
om the ion-yield spectra observed by these experiments, the decay chan
nels for the 1s-(1)3p resonance (two-step and resonant Auger shake-off
) were estimated to be in the ratio 91%:9%; while for the 1s-(1)4p res
onance the ratio was 68%:32%. It is found that the two-step channel pl
ays an important role in the decay of these resonances.
