Abstract
Naltrexone (NIX) ir an antagonist of morphine-like substances it is or ally active and blocks the pharmacological effects opiates. The author s describe the treatment of a 28-year-old woman intravenous heroin use r who developed paresthesia of the arms and legs after a standard 50-m g dose. When the dosage was reduced to 25 mg, this side effect was of shorter duration and finally disappeared after 10 days of dosage at th is level. At the 60th day, the dosage was brought back! up to 50 mg da ily, and no paresthesia was observed.
