K. Eriksson et Jo. Levin, FIELD VALIDATION OF A DIFFUSIVE SAMPLER FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF PERSONAL EXPOSURE TO SAWING FUMES, Chemosphere, 30(8), 1995, pp. 1541-1549
A field validation of a diffusive sampler for the assessment of person
al exposure to sawing fumes from pine has been performed. The sampling
rate for the main constituents in these fumes, the monoterpenes alpha
-pinene, beta-pinene and Delta(3)-carene, is determined to 8.6, 8.6 an
d 8.3 mi min(-1), respectively. Carbon disulfide is a suitable solvent
for desorption from the charcoal, which is the sorbent used. Analysis
of the compounds should be performed within one week after air sampli
ng.
