BIMA Array observations of the 107 GHz CH3OH masers in the Cep A star-
forming region have been carried out with 2'' resolution. These are th
e first interferometric observations of 107 GHz CH3OH masers. Two mase
rs were observed. They are both projected near (200 and 500 AU) an ult
racompact H II region/radio jet, cofirming that they art: class II mas
ers. While the 107 GHz masers are positionally coincident with the 12.
2 GHz CH,OH masers to within the uncertainties, these two maser groups
(both of which belong to class II) are at different velocities, indic
ating that they are not cospatial. This suggests that the pumping requ
irements of 12.2 and 107 GHz masers are slightly different, and theref
ore suggests that these masers reside in regions with slightly differe
nt physical characteristics.
