Abstract
The first example is reported of a palladium-catalysed cyclodimerizati on of butadiene to 2-vinylmethylenecyclopentane occurring in catalytic turnovers and yields far superior to the nickel-based systems, which are claimed to be specific for cyclodimerization reactions.
