Abstract
The ferrocene-containing amidinate anion FcC(NCy)(2)](-) (Fc=ferroceny l) is obtained by the reaction of N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide with F cLi in THF/hexanes. The lithium derivative reacts with 1/2 equiv of Fe Cl2 or CoBr2 to afford the trimetallic derivatives [FcC(NCy)(2)](2)M . nE(t)2O. X-ray crystal structures of the Li, Fe(II), and Co(II) deriv atives are reported.
