Abstract
The Jurassic series of the Talmest-Tazoult area (Moroccan Central High Atlas) has been subdivided into 12 third order sequences which are or ganized into 2 second order cycles. Brachiopod faunas provide new dati ngs for the Toarcian-Bajocian period. The 3 main geodynamic stages (Ca rixian-Domerian platform break-up; Toarcian turbiditic basin settling; Middle Jurassic carbonate platform development) fit well into the geo dynamic evolution scheme for the Central High Atlas rift.
