Abstract
In this paper, the theory of joint mapping of quantitative trait loci is extended to F-2 populations. Two independent regression equations, related to the additive and dominance effects respectively, are derive d. Therefore, there are three alternative strategies for mapping QTLs, called additive-based mapping (ABM), dominance-based mapping (DBM) an d additive-dominance-based mapping (ADBM). Simulation results have sho wn that ADBM is the most appropriate in most situations.
