Abstract
Particle translocation in vivo was studied in mice using the non-patho genic yeast Saccharomyces boulardii (SB). Seven day old BALB/c mice we re given either saline (control) or 1.5 g/Kg SB (every six hours, up t o 48 hours), by intubation, and killed by decapitation 48 hours post-t reatment. Light and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) examination of specimens prepared from the middle intestine revealed the presence of yeast inclusions localised in the cytoplasm of enterocytes.
