Abstract
Different scenarios for measuring the alpha particle distribution in I TER by means of a collective Thomson scattering experiment are reviewe d. As a result of this analysis, two possible methods are selected, re spectively using a 10.6 mu m laser (tangential geometry) and a 65-70 G Hz gyrotron (backscattering).
