Abstract
Human protein tyrosine phosphatase, receptor-type, zeta (PTPRZ; also d enoted HPTP xi or RPTP beta) has a large extracellular region with the N-terminal carbonic anhydrase-like domain and a cytoplasmic region wi th two tandemly located protein tyrosine phosphatase domains. One of t he characteristics of PTPRZ is its preferential expression in the cent ral nervous system. We localized the human PTPRZ gene to chromosome ba nd 7q31.3 by somatic cell hybrid mapping and fluorescence in situ hybr idization.
