Abstract
The chromosome possessing two chromomycin A(3) (CMA(3)) staining sites in lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) was examined using FISH. All CMA (3)-bands in the karyotype contained ribosomal DNA (rDNA), including b oth sites on the double-CMA(3) chromosome. One rDNA site on this chrom osome was bordered by telomeric repeats, implicating a rearrangement i n the origin of the second NOR.
