Abstract
The polymerase chain reaction allows the characterization of RNA and D NA sequences in samples as small as a single cell. The recent developm ent of amplification systems designed to isolate rearranged immunoglob ulin genes from single B lineage cells has provided a powerful tool to investigate various aspects of B-cell development.
