Abstract
The galvanizing process shifted the scatter band for impact energy val ues of the CSA 350 WT, category 4, plate material by approximately 10 degrees C. The cold-straining alone produced the most significant shif t (30 degrees C) in the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature. Thi s particular steel was found to be less susceptible to strain-age-embr ittlement.
