Abstract
In adaptive mesh generation, placement of internal nodes plays a great er role for fast convergence. So far linear interpolation techniques h ave been used for placing the internal nodes in a given domain. In thi s paper a comparison between linear and quadratic interpolation has be en tried and results are presented for a number of plane stress and pl ane strain problems.
