Abstract
The linear stability problem for a system of elliptic vortices was app roached. Neutral stability curves for a system consisting of 4, 16, 36 , and 64 vortices were constructed. A comparison was carried out of th e spatial configuration of a real flow upon a loss of stability with a flow presenting the combination of the basic flow and an unstable mod e.
