The existing experimental data on He-8+p elastic and inelastic scatter
ing at low and high energies have been analyzed in terms of an eikonal
approach with different presentations of nuclear density distribution
s. Comparison of calculations with experimental data reveals a sensiti
vity of recoil proton angular distribution at large momentum transfer
to the shape of matter distribution. The root-mean-square radius of He
-8 has been deduced and effects of neutron halo in He-8 are discussed.
