The properties of polypropylene differ depending on the way the polyme
r is precipitated-either by slow cooling of its solution in m-xylene o
r by fast mixing of the polymer solution with cold alcohol. The differ
ences remain both in the polymer melt and in films prepared from the m
elt. The difference in properties is caused by the different level of
topological disorder in the polymer chains.
