Abstract
The authors present a case of bilateral localised staphylococcal pneum onia in a young Cameroonian girl aged 9. A double thoracotomy was perf ormed because of the worsening respiratory distress due to the presenc e and extension of the pneumatocoeles. The outcome was satisfactory de spite persistence of a small deficit of the total vital capacity on sp irometry, 8 months after discharge from the hospital.
