Abstract
A direct integration solution for two-dimensional elasticity problems is presented as an alternative approach to the finite element and boun dary element methods. A boundary integral formulation of the problem i s integrated. Gauss integration and a special integration technique fo r singularities are used. It is the contention here that the direct in tegration is more efficient than the finite or boundary element soluti ons.
