Abstract
The super finite element method is extended to the nonlinear static an d dynamic analysis of orthogonally stiffened cylindrical shells. Both geometric and material nonlinearities are included and the temporal eq uations are solved by the implicit Newmark-beta method with Newton-Rap hson subiterations. The new formulation has been tested in various app lications and a few illustrative examples are presented.
