Abstract
Ecdysone, 20-hydroxyecdysone, and makisterone A were identified in ape rous virginoparae of the vetch aphid, Megoura viciae using RP-HPLC and RIA. In whole body extracts the titre of 20-hydroxyecdysone is 50 tim es higher than that of makisterone A and 10 times higher than ecdysone . In M. viciae, the functions of these hormones, apart from probable r egulation of the moulting process (20-hydroxyecdysone), is not known.
