Sm. Turner et al., 2-YEAR FOLLOW-UP OF SOCIAL PHOBICS TREATED WITH SOCIAL EFFECTIVENESS THERAPY, Behaviour research and therapy, 33(5), 1995, pp. 553-555
A 2-yr follow-up assessment was conducted with patients treated with S
ocial Effectiveness Therapy (SET), a multi-component treatment for soc
ial phobia. Eight of the 13 patients who completed the treatment study
were available for the follow-up. The results indicated that treatmen
t gains were maintained over the 2-yr follow-up interval, and there wa
s some indication of further improvement over that attained at posttre
atment. The findings are discussed in terms of the efficacy of SET and
the durability of behavioral treatment of social phobia.
