Abstract
Enterprises rearing early weaned pig lets producing 800 - 1500 early w eaned piglets up to 28 kg came into operation to provide greater numbe rs of pigs for fattening in all in/all out systems, The high level of passive immunity in early weaned pigs together with their isolation fr om older pigs results in a relatively reduced risk from enzootic infec tious diseases. Eradication of disease is possible if the piglets are derived from only a small number of breeding herds with synchronised f arrowing
