A. Zielinski et al., EFFECTS OF TEMPERS ON ENVIRONMENTAL-ASSISTED FAILURE OF AN AL-ZN-MG-CU ALLOY, Journal of materials processing technology, 53(1-2), 1995, pp. 491-498
The Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy was investigated by slow strain rate tests in se
a water. The influence of tempers on the strain rate dependence of fra
cture energy was observed. The effects of the strain rate, addition of
As2O3, pre-exposure and room temperature storage were explained by a
change in the grain boundary microstructure following more advanced ag
eing that affected the susceptibility to pitting corrosion, hydrogen a
bsorption and morphology of cracking.
