Abstract
New mono- and disubstituted organoplatinum(II) derivatives of diphenyl ether, cis(PhOC(6)H(4)-o)PtCl(PPh(3))(2) and (o-C6H4OC6H4-o)Pt(PPh(3) )(2), were synthesized by the reaction of 2,2'-dilithium diphenyl oxid e with cis-Cl2Pt(PPh(3))(2). Transmetallation of (PhOC(6)H(4)-o)AuPPh( 3) with cis-Cl2Pt(PPh(3))(2) was studied using P-31 NMR monitoring. Th is reaction proceeds with the retention of configuration to afford ClA uPPh(3) and cis-(PhOC(6)H(4)-o)PtCl(PPh(3))(2) under kinetically contr olled conditions. The latter complex irreversibly isomerizes into the trans isomer in the presence of equimolar quantities of ClAuPPh(3), wh ereas, in the presence of free PPh(3), this isomerization is reversibl e. The structures of the obtained diphenyl oxide derivatives of platin um were confirmed by P-31 NMR and FAB mass spectrometry. It was establ ished by X-ray structural analysis that in the cis-(PhOC(6)H(4)-o)PtCl (PPh(3))(2) complex, the Pt atom is in a nearly square-planar coordina tion, and secondary intramolecular Pt...O interaction occurs.
