Abstract
The electromagnetic modeling of the Fresnel-zone plate antenna (FZPA) by means of physical optics (PO) and the uniform theory of diffraction (UTD) is experimentally verified. Near-field measurements on basic co nfigurations of the FZPA (i.e., a slit and two rings in a metallic pla te) at 50 GHz and far-field measurements on a complete FZPA at 11.5 GH z show good correspondence with computer simulations based on UTD and PO.
