Phase conjugate reflectivities of a single signal pulse in excess of 1
% are achieved in a single BaTiO3 crystal using a four-wave mixing con
figuration, in which the same crystal produces self-pumped phase conju
gation of a repetitively pulsed pump to generate the counterpropagatin
g pump. The configuration is used to perform phase distortion correcti
on on an image carried in a single pulse with 15 ns duration.
