R. Heydenbluth et al., FIRST-DOSE HYPOTENSION IN CARDIAC-INSUFFI CIENCY PATIENTS UNDER LISINOPRIL TREATMENT, Nieren- und Hochdruckkrankheiten, 24(3), 1995, pp. 123-125
The first dose response of 2.5 mg lisinopril was investigated in patie
nts with cardiac insufficiency NYHA II - III with 24-hour blood pressu
re measurements. In 428 patients 24-hour blood pressure profiles could
be evaluated before and during the first treatment day. Symptomatic h
ypotension occurred only in 1 patient, 2 other patients with hypotensi
ve blood pressure values suffered from dizziness. Altogether, symptoma
tic hypotension was observed in less than 1% of the patients. In 12.4%
of the patients systolic blood pressure and in 16.8% diastolic blood
pressure was lowered by more than 15%. In 9.6% both values were lowere
d by more than 15%. Summarizing, these results demonstrate that a dose
of 2.5 mg lisinopril is safe with regard to first dose hypotension in
patients with cardiac insufficiency.
