In. Fridylander et al., PROPERTIES AND CHARACTER OF CRACK-GROWTH IN EXTRUSIONS OF AN AL-CU-LIALLOY, Metal science and heat treatment, 36(11-12), 1994, pp. 604-608
Tests of specimem of Al-Cu-Li alloys have shown that fatigue cracks in
these materials sometimes grow in directions different from the appli
ed load. This article examines the effect of different stages of aging
on the rate of fatigue-crack growth (FCGR) and direction of crack pro
pagation in tests conducted on extrusions of alloy 1450 to determine f
racture toughness (K-Ic) and resistance to fatigue.
