Abstract
We study the large Delta I = 1/2 and small Delta I = 3/2 amplitudes fo r the K --> pi pi and Omega --> Xi pi weak transitions both in the had ron and in the quark language. The close parallel approaches to these superficially different decays suggest that these meson and baryon wea k transitions are driven by similar dynamical mechanisms.
