A semi-inclusive analysis of multiparticle production in h-h collision
at root s = 16.7 Gev is performed using a model-independent approach
based on universal multifractals. The multiplicities range from N-ch =
6 to N-ch = 20. The data have been collected at the Fermilab Tevatron
. The multiple scaling of probability distributions is investigated fi
rst. Then universal multifractal forms for the codimension function c(
gamma) and the moment's scaling function K(q) are derived and the Levy
index alpha, the degree of multifractality, is experimentally determi
ned together with the codimension of the mean field C-1. The data disp
lay Log-Levy-type statistics with bounded singularities, the peculiari
ties of a conditionally soft/hard multifractal process. The degree of
multifractality increases with increasing multiplicity, but our data a
re not inconsistent with alpha remaining below unity.
