Abstract
A polyommatine lycaenid is described from the high Andean region of Ec uador: Madeleinea carolityla (type locality: Quillo Turo, Pululahua Ge obotanical Reserve, Pichincha Province). The newly discovered species belongs to the koa-group of Madeleinea, sympatric and synchronic with its very recently described congener Madeleinea nodo Balint & Johnson. The complete checklist of the Madeleinea species is given.
