Abstract
Experimental efforts to characterize and develop an understanding of n on Fermi liquid (NFL) behavior at low temperature in f-electron materi als are reviewed for three f-electron systems: M(1-x)U(x)Pd(3) (M = Sc ,Y), U1-xThxPd2Al3, and UCu5-xPdx. The emerging systematics of NFL beh avior in f-electron systems, based on the present sample of nearly ten f-electron systems, is updated. Many of the f-electron systems exhibi t the following temperature dependences of the electrical resistivity rho, specific heal C, and magnetic susceptibility chi for T much less than T-0, where T-0 is a characteristic temperature: rho(T) similar to 1 - aT/T-0, where a < 0 or > 0, C(T)/T similar to (-1/T-0)ln(T/bT(0)) , and chi(T) similar to 1 - c(T/T-0)(1/2). In several of the f-electro n systems, the characteristic temperature T-0 can be identified with t he Kondo temperature T-K.
